Immigration news is all good for NAABP

Joe Green, a Harvard roommate of Mark Zuckerberg and head of Zuck's cheap labor lobby, National Association for the Advancement of Billionaire People FWD.us, emails:
Steve --
Yesterday was a great day for comprehensive immigration reform.
In a major step forward, Democrats and Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted 13-5 in support of reform. This bill contains all of the key principles that we’re fighting for, and we need to show our support for it.
Share this graphic on Facebook to thank the Senators who voted for reform:
There are several more steps before the full Senate votes on immigration reform. But this is the most encouraging sign yet.
Share our thank you card online. We’ll be in touch soon with updates on the next steps. Let’s keep up the good work.
Joe Green
Founder and President, FWD.us

To commemorate this historic accomplishment by The Gang of Eight, iSteve brings you an exclusive photo of a key moment in the deliberations of the inner circle of The Eight Banditos:
Bipartisan Senate committee negotiates immigration reform.
From right to left:
a perhaps puzzled but still game John McCain;
Lindsey Graham, looking, as always, languidly stunning in leather;
the Gang of Eight's idea man, the persuasive Charles "1600 SAT" Schumer,
and Marco Rubio, who is more of a Big Picture than a details kind of thinker.

Not to mention Sen. Graham's headgear, harking back to his brief-jockeying flyboy days as judge advocate in the USAF...

And now Boston is exporting its diversity to Orlando. No thanks, Boston, we have enough vibrancy already from the island paradises of PR and Haiti.

"The migration of 6 million black Americans from South to North over the half century from 1915 to 1970 is a fact so large that it is hard to hold all its aspects in mind: the effect on the region left behind, on the destination cities, on the migrants themselves, on their descendants, and finally upon the character of the American nation as a whole...

History never repeats itself, but it's hard to avoid noticing parallels between the Great Migration and the post 1970 immigration from Mexico and Central America - only with the difference that this time the skills mismatch is even more extreme than it was in the 1950s. Only this time, the migration is not as of right; and the migrants are not people to whom American society owes a debt for past wrongs.

Migration is hard. It carries huge costs for both the migrant and the receiving society. The progress of absorption is measured in decades, even centuries. There's no room for myth-making in the study in so important a subject, but instead the courage to face all its truths, both the welcome and the unwelcome."

Don't you just hate it when these cowards crow about "fighting" for something when really they're not fighting at all. They are AVOIDING a fight. They are surrendering like the Nancy Boys they are.

And. . . our host was right again. Benghazi, the AP wiretap, the IRS thing, watch them! Pay no attention to the Gang of Eight behind the curtain.

I had forgotten Al Franken was elected Senator. Jesus.

Have you sent this post (with pics) along to the senators you mention? Hope so.

Watching the proceedings on CSPAN it is pretty incredible just how in control of things Schumer is. Leahy is a complete dope. Feinstein, Franken, and Durbin are posturing for the camera the whole time (their performances during Leahy's gay marriage amendment were particularly rich). Meanwhile Graham and Sessions are wiping the sweat from the foreheads, wondering what the hell they've gotten themselves into. But above it all, Schumer, agree with him or not, comes out as the clear alpha.

The notion that Rubio would keep Schumer from pulling any fast ones is particularly comic. From Schumer's Wikipedia page:

He attended public schools in Brooklyn, scoring 1600 on the SAT, and graduated as the valedictorian from James Madison High School in 1967.[5] Schumer competed for Madison High on the It's Academic television quiz show.[6]

He attended Harvard College, where he became interested in politics and campaigned for Eugene McCarthy in 1968.[7] After completing his undergraduate degree, he continued to Harvard Law School, earning his Juris Doctor with honors in 1974. Schumer passed the New York State Bar Exam in early 1975, but never practiced law, entering politics instead.[8]

"Schumer ran for and was elected to the New York State Assembly, becoming, at age 23, the youngest member of the New York legislature since Theodore Roosevelt. He served three terms, from 1975–1980.[9][10][11] He has never lost an election."

By my count, that makes Schumer 15-0 in general elections (3 Assembly terms, 9 House terms, 3 Senate terms). He's defeated Stephen Solarz, Geraldine Ferraro, and Al D'Amato.

Schumer is formidable.

I hope so. He can defend us from all those Muslim zombie hatchetmen.

Yeah, no shit. The Haitians have enough vibrancy by themselves that we in Orlando ought to be exempt from having to take any more of it.

If you guys actually lived in New York, you'd appreciate these guys. It's a matter of who gets stuck with the NAMs. From a conservative point of view, they're doing the right thing in fighting for their hometown.

Besides, don't you southerners have the KKK and all those groups to keep the NAMs in line?

Celebrating that it passed committee? That they got Orrin Hatch's vote? I think this goes more to my suspicion that FWD.US is targeted at political ignorants who wish to appear topically engaged, a la Stan in the South Park movie

It is a slur on the great Mexican thespian Alfonso ArĂ¡u to use him as a stand-in for Charles Schumer.

Totally off topic, but maybe all those tech companies going broke if they don't get H1-Bs can use this test to increase their profits:
